The 37th Annual Ancient Order of the Hibernians St. Patrick's Parade was held today.
Drawing thousands of people along a narrow stretch of Baxter Avenue-Bardstown Road (from Broadway to Mid City Mall,) the event defied the rain clouds and went off without a drop.

Party Crasher Assignment #42 found me at the Germantown destination spot of the NachBar.
It was my first time shooting there for Velocity, but a previous assignment for URHere made me familiar with the low (but colorful) light I'd have to work with.
All-in-all, very nice results and a great show by the Java Men.

Been awhile since I was assigned a 4th Street Live Party Crash, and the drunks seem to be in full blossom as spring approaches.
The assignment was Hotel, but my best action was found outside. Make sure you check out the last dozen pics in the gallery.

Assignment #40 for The Velocity's Party Crasher series had me at a gala that featured the Mayor, several metro council members, and Mayoral candidates.
(To the Right) Jenna Camco is hoisted up by friends Emily Kissel, Kristen Jackson, and Jessica Kessinger at Brightside's annual Green Tie Bash at The Olmstead.

Beginning with my 40th Birthday on Monday, I began wandering the neighborhood more for surrealist fodder.
A few walks down alleys and a trip to Cherokee Park gave me some new material for "My Surrealist Efforts Continue..." Gallery.

My 39th Party Crasher assignment for Velocity Magazine was my 8th such trip to Phoenix Hill Tavern.
I know I risk never seeing much publicity for these shots, let alone seeing them in print, since 4th Street Live and the Hipster-Doofus bars of G'town/Old Lou tend to get the nod.
Sure Phoenix Hill isn't gussied up tramps and obscure ex-reality stars like Sully's or the like, but I decided it is no longer about the potential praise a shot can get, but the process of me getting that shot.
The experience of the night, and what it brings, has more value than the end perceptions and opinions of strangers.
In short, I like Phoenix Hill Tavern and the photos I get there.

My final game at Freedom Hall was tonight. They lost this one to Georgetown 70-60, and it was the first time they lost a game I got to shoot.
They are 7-1 when I get to shoot their games (nudge, nudge Kenny Klein.)
Anyway, despite the loss, I got some great action shots and a few detail shots to possibly go with a LEO story next week. Stay tuned...
